Groove Tube, a riot of a movie, predated SNL by a year and launched Chevy Chase. I still remember it most for the opening segment featuring Curtis Mayfield's incredible Moving On Up. I just ordered a DVD and am watching it this weekend. I must've seen this 100x in college, playing as it did every night all the time at the Other Side Coffeeshop at SUNY Stony Brook.
